Story
We're taking part in the Blackmores Half Marathon 2010 and hoping to raise funds for arthritis australia.
The week before Hugh died, he had become pretty optimistic about the future. For those who knew Hugh well, you would all know that he wasn’t much of a planner. And so in that last week, it was amazing how much Hugh was talking about the future. He had plans to take over Whiffen and Andrews, to finish his degree and to get his paintings together for a showing. But one of the things that he got excited about most was that he wanted to get back into running. On Thursday morning, as I was sitting at work staring blankly at my computer, I get a text from Poss.
“I’m gonna make you really jealous... Just been for a swim and jog at balmoral and am now drinking a nice coffee!!!”
I replied, saying I'd love to go to Balmoral with him on saturday...
His response: “Maybe=great idea... I will even run with you if it’s not too fast.”
Saturday never happened.
We had dinner on Friday night and he told mum and I that he was going to try and walk/run the Half Marathon in September and raise money for rheumatoid arthritis.
