Story
I have dusted off the runners, and let me tell you they were pretty dusty, and I will be taking part in the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival on 19th September 2010. I will be joining The Spinal Cord Injury Network "Back It Up" Team, in their quest to raise much need funds for Spinal Research.
Through my involvement with The Spinal Cord Injury Network, I have learnt first hand about the devastating effects and challenges a person with a Spinal Cord Injury may have to face. Life is changed forever, impacting upon an individual’s physical functioning, independence, participation in daily activities, health and lifestyle.
Help me turn hope into a reality for someone living with a Spinal Cord Injury by supporting me with a small donation.
Alternatively, why not consider participating in one of the 4 events yourself, invite your own family and friends, and then join The Network Back It Up Team. Together we can raise those much needed funds, as well raising awareness! For all the info on the events & registration, as well as how to take part in the RUN FOR A CAUSE, RUN FOR FREE Initiative, go to:

For more information on the Network itself go to: www.spinalnetwork.org.au
A very big thank you!

Activity
The Spinal Cord Injury Network
Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) is one of the most devastating and challenging conditions that a person may ever face. Life is changed forever, impacting on an individual’s physical functioning, independence and participation in daily activities, health & lifestyle. Traumatic SCI occurs most commonly in young people, as a result of motor accidents. Falls, sports injuries or non-traumatic conditions or illnesses such as spinal infections and cancer can also result in spinal cord impairment. The Spinal Cord Injury Network is a young and vibrant not for profit organisation. Our aim is to coordinate efforts to promote recovery, minimise disability and maximise quality of life. As an alliance of leading researchers, frontline clinicians and people with SCI who are committed to improving treatments for people with SCI. We are working together to develop research, facilitate clinical trials and improve translation of basic and clinical research into more effective treatments, even a cure.
The Spinal Cord Injury Network is a trading name of Australian Spinal Cord Injury Network Limited.
